meditation for connecting to the divine, freedom, gratitude & joy

     Visualize yourself in a peaceful, natural setting, anywhere in time or place that you would like. Focus on breath and feel your connection to the earth allowing the earth's energy to start entering your body and let go of any thoughts, sensations, noises or distractions.

     From this position, you see beautiful green trees around you and you are gazing at a beautiful sky. It can be either day or night as you become a part of your surroundings, focusing on breath and taking in the changing scenes.

     Find yourself in a forest, where you are surrounded by the fragrance of pine trees and the beautiful songs of birds. You may even see fireflies, their vibrant color alighting from the forest floor. It is very cool and tranquil here, so let's breathe in these qualities and hold that space for a moment before breathing out this peace and tranquility to your surroundings, thanking the forest for this place of retreat.

     From the forest, you walk through to a clearing to discover a beautiful field of golden
grain, ablaze in the strong sunlight. You see the wind rippling through the grain, like waves, and feel its warmth. Focusing on breathing, breathe in the warmth and energy of this sight like a shower of golden light and hold the sensation of illumination inside for a moment  and then release your exhalation slowly.

     As you become a part of this beautiful, golden field, which infuses you with its radiance so that your skin begins to glow, you see two trails emerge from the field made of  beautiful stones that join and become one. As you observe the neatly placed stones on this single trail, you become aware that this is a symbol for you. Perhaps you are integrating certain experiences and aspects within yourself, discovering your life path, making space in your life to unite with another, or even merging with your higher self. It may be all of these or perhaps just be the beginning of this for you.

     So let's breathe in the unity created from this image and hold that space inside, and then breathe out any obstacles in your life and consciousness you would like to be free of.

     And now allow this trail to lead you to the beautiful white sand of an ocean beach and see yourself entering the warm, salt water and allow yourself to just float in the water and ride the waves as you smell the salt air and hear the relaxing sound of the waves breaking behind you.

     And on your inhalations, begin to breathe into your being the many qualities and lessons of nature you have experienced in the forest, field and trail making them part of you, as you ride the ocean waves, going with the ebb and flow of the refreshing and healing water all around you. As you model these qualities on the inner level with your inhalations, you sense your place in the infinite cosmos and the feeling of privilege, liberation and joy it brings.
