As we focus on breath, allowing it to center us, let's go even deeper into consciousness to the quiet and still place within us.
And begin to visualize yourself swimming in the surf at water's edge of a beautiful, calm, blue ocean, enjoying the peaceful quality of the water on the surface.
Ahead of you, is a sea otter playing in the water who beckons you out further.
Swim out to the otter allowing him to guide you, as you navigate through the currents below the peaceful surface.
Focusing on breath, as you start to breathe in the freedom of swimming with the otter and then as you breathe out any fears or inhibitions you are letting go of, sending them off into the currents to be carried away by the calm waves.
In the distance, on the surface of the ocean, you see a group of dolphins leaping out of the water into the air. You observe and honor these masters of the water. They are in their element like the sea otter and are a powerful inspiration to seek our your personal element, whatever that may be for you.
Focusing on breath, continue observing the dolphins for as long as you would like, and know that you can always return to this sight and this sense of connecting to your element, whenever you need or want to experience the grace and mastery of the dolphins.
As you swim back to the surf, and leave the beautiful water, you are greeted on the warm sand by a beautiful and exotic animal - this could be a bird, sea creature or other being. You communicate your appreciation of their beautiful qualities to them. The creature is humbled by your display of affection as you peacefully share this communication, and sense the gift of humility from this guide and teacher.
As we relax even more fully, focusing on breath, we can journey inside ourselves now, to discover and open ourselves even more fully to the different levels of mastery within us.
Start to contemplate and visualize what this means to you - perhaps you see yourself creating a work of art by painting or sculpting, playing an instrument and singing gloriously, engaging in spirited athletics, or writing in a journal - anything that allows you to feel the potential of great mastery.
Really explore the details of this activity, even if it something you've never done or have always wanted to do and focusing on breath, allow yourself to breathe in the creative exhilaration of your activity and breathe out the mastery you experience in this activity.
When this experience of your inner world feels complete for the moment, start bringing your awareness back to your surroundings, breathing in some clarifying and grounding breaths, so that you become grounded and centered allowing you to bring your experience into your day with you.
And as we prepare to transition out of meditation feeling purified, centered and energized, you may want to start moving your hands, feet, head and neck slowly. If you have been meditating with your eyes closed, shade your eyes with your hands before opening them slowly, allowing yourself some time to adjust. |
